Microsoft Is Pushing Out Build KB4512534 for Windows 10 V1809
Microsoft has launched new fixes for Windows 10 older versions recently. Microsoft is pushing out build KB4512534 for Windows 10 V1809. The following are four significant fixes of this build.
- PDFs that are configured to be opened only once can be opened by Microsoft Edge.
- Allow Microsoft Edge to correctly print PDF documents containing horizontal and vertical pages.
- Update the issue of downloading copyrighted digital media like music, TV shows, movies, etc. from certain websites using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.
- Update the issue of blocking Windows Hello face recognition after restarting the device.
But the update has some known issues. Now let’s go to see two of these issues and their solutions respectively:
Issue 1: the Error “0x800f0982 — PSFX_E_MATCHING _COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND” Appears
Some devices that installed Asian language packs may receive the error “0x800f0982 — PSFX_E_MATCHING _COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND” after you install build KB4493509. Here is the solution for this issue:
Step 1: Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs.
Step 2: Select Check for updates and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update.
If it’s not useful to reinstall the language pack, you can reset the PC as follows:
Step 1: Launch the Settings app, click Update & Security and then click Recovery.
Step 2: Under the Reset this PC recovery option, select Get Started.
Step 3: Select Keep my Files.
Issue 2: Some Devices Start Up to a Black Screen
If you meet this issue, you can follow the steps:
Step 1: You can press Ctrl+Alt+Delete at the same time.
Step 2: Then select the Power button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 3: At last, select Restart to restart your device.
Then your device should restart normally.
Microsoft Is Pushing Out Build KB4512494 and Build KB4512474 for Windows 10 V1709 and V1703
New Cumulative Updates for older versions of Windows 10 V1709 and V1703 have been launched. These two builds are KB4512494 and KB4512474, which only can be applied to Windows 10 Enterprise and Education. Besides, they are not available in Windows 10 Home and Pro.
These builds to update the issue of downloading copyrighted digital media like music, TV shows, movies, etc. from certain websites using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.
However, these two builds have the same known issue.
Issue: the Error “STATUS_BAD_MPERSONATIONLEVEL (0xC00000A5)” Appears
Some operations (such as renaming) performed on files or folders on a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) may fail and this error will appear. Here are two solutions for you.
- Perform the operation from a process that has administrator privilege.
- Perform the operation from a node that doesn’t have CSV ownership.
Microsoft Is Pushing Out Build KB4512495 for Windows 10 V1607 or Windows Server 2016
Microsoft is pushing out new fixes for older versions of Windows 10 V1607. The most significant fix of the build is that updating the issue that causes File Explorer to intermittently stop working.
Issue: the Error “2245 (NERR_PasswordTooShort)” Appears
After you install build KB4467684, if the group policy “Minimum Password Length” is configured with greater than 14 characters, the cluster service may fail to start and this error will appear.
To fix this issue, you can set the domain default “Minimum Password Length” policy to less than or equal to 14 characters.
Final Words
Although there are some issues in these new fixes for older versions of Windows 10, Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. The updates are optional and will not be automatically pushed out, you can check for updates manually.
